Specimen 004ExperimentLive
Floating real HTML on a canvas swamp
This site's text is drawn onto the water with the new HTML-in-Canvas API, so live, clickable HTML can bob, reflect and ripple. What the spec asks for, and what broke on the way.
Field notes · 4 specimens
R. Sivasubramanian's playground: ideas written down before they are built, experiments built in the open, and the small tools that grow out of them.

Specimen 003ExperimentLive
The crocodile in this swamp is drawn with canvas paths and moved by a follow-the-leader spine with a travelling wave laid over it. What real crocodilian anatomy asked for, and the bugs that made her tear, twitch and lose her head.

Depth 12 m · House rules
Every specimen says what it is, an idea, an experiment or a tool, and how far along it is. Nothing here pretends to be more finished than it is.
An idea gets a page before it gets code, and some never get code. Writing one down is the cheapest way to find out whether it holds water.
When an experiment does not work, it is marked abandoned and stays, with a note on why. That note is usually the most useful part.
Depth 20 m · Who is down here
I lead engineering for enterprise platforms by day. The rest of the time I build things to find out whether they work: canvas toys, admin panel plugins, the occasional idea that turns into a real tool. Nine years of PHP, Go and Node, lately a lot of AWS and Ansible. Swamp Crocodile is where all of it surfaces, including the things that sink.
